Terms of Use & Disclaimer

Last updated: June 2026

Ballot Awareness is an independent, nonpartisan voter information resource. By using this website, you agree to these Terms. Please read them, they explain what this site is, what it is not, and the limits of what you can rely on it for.

1. Informational purpose only

Ballot Awareness provides general information about candidates, races, and ballot measures for the 2026 United States elections. It is offered for educational and informational purposes only. It is not legal, electoral, financial, or professional advice, and it is not an official source of election information.

Nothing on this site is an instruction or recommendation on how to vote. We do not endorse, oppose, or rank any candidate, party, campaign, or ballot measure.

Nothing on this site is legal, voting, or professional advice, and nothing here tells you how to vote. For authoritative guidance on voting procedures, deadlines, and eligibility, consult your state or local election office.

2. Not affiliated, not authoritative

This website is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of any government agency, election office, political party, candidate, campaign, political action committee, or advocacy organization. References to third-party organizations (such as Ballotpedia, the Associated Press, or the Cook Political Report) are for attribution only and do not imply their endorsement or involvement.

Always verify before you vote. For official, authoritative information about your registration, polling place, deadlines, mail-in voting, and the exact contents of your ballot, consult your state or county election office or vote.gov. Do not rely solely on this site for voting logistics.

3. Win estimates are predictions, not facts

Percentages shown on candidates are estimates of the chance of winning, not statements of fact, not vote-share predictions, and not guarantees of any outcome. They are derived by mapping published nonpartisan race ratings (such as the Cook Political Report) to a fixed probability scale, adjusted modestly by available public polling. These estimates are inherently uncertain, reflect opinion and analysis, and will change over time. They should not be relied upon for any decision beyond general orientation.

4. Accuracy and "as is" disclaimer

We work to keep information accurate and verify candidate and race data against public sources. However, election information changes rapidly, sources can conflict or contain errors, and we cannot guarantee that any information is complete, current, or error-free.

This website and all of its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Your use of the site is at your own risk.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ballot Awareness, its creator, and anyone associated with it will not be liable for any damages of any kind arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website or its content, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. This includes any decision made or action taken in reliance on information found here. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

6. Third-party links

This site links to external websites operated by others. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party site. Links are provided for convenience and do not constitute endorsement.

7. Intellectual property

The original text, design, and compilation on this site are the property of Ballot Awareness. Candidate names, race data, and factual public information are not claimed as proprietary. Third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and attribution only.

8. Corrections

If you believe any information on this site is inaccurate, we want to fix it. Please contact us at ballotawareness@gmail.com with the specific race and a source, and we will review it.

9. Privacy

This site does not require accounts, does not run ads, does not use tracking cookies, and does not sell or share personal data. It uses privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics solely to count page views. If you use the optional address-based district lookup, your address is sent by your browser directly to the official U.S. Census Bureau geocoder to identify your districts; this site never receives or stores it. If you email us, your message is used only to respond to you. Third-party sites you visit through links here have their own privacy practices.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.

11. No professional relationship

Use of this site does not create any professional, advisory, or fiduciary relationship between you and Ballot Awareness or its creator.
